“Essencia”, named after the Portuguese word for “essence” was founded by Marie and Carlos Santos, both whom originate from the islands of Portugal. Located in the heart of downtown Amesbury, the couple created a place of luxury and relaxation, their motto being “Relax, Rejuvenate, Redefine”; they’ve created a full service spa, salon and boutique.
The heart of the business is Marie Santos, who has an impressive and extensive background in Cosmetology, Fashion Design, and is also a Licensed Esthetician. Marie created Essencia with her passion and savvy business flair for the fashion and beauty industry leading the way. Her husband Carlos, a successful contractor, made the dream a reality by putting his heart and soul into building the spa and salon, and thus Essencia was born. Their two daughters both assist in the spa and salon operations, both front of house and through designing and expanding Essencia’s brand. The collaboration and talents of the Santos family make this beautiful establishment a welcoming and fabulous experience for any guest.
